Maybe you remember the acoustic piano version I made of Just Be Good To Me, the S.OS. Band dancefloor classic from te eighties? This song has been part of me for a long time. I think it was the first cover song I ever played in my solo-sets when I just started performing in front of a live audience. It must have been 2010 or something. In 2015 I made a video, and released the recording on my covers EP From This World.
Last summer, German producer Alex Zind contacted me about the song. He was thinking about making a version himself, surfed around the web for inspiration and found my rendition. He wanted to use my vocals and piano arrangement, so I sent him the files. Alex ended up making a fresh, up-beat pop song from my laid back version, with a very 2019 sound. The single is out on Spotify and iTunes since 19 April. And the best thing of all: we were asked to premiere the song on Easter Sunday at German televison. Therefore we had to go to Gran Canaria, where the TV-program ZDF-Fernsehgarten On Tour was being recorded. What an awesome video they made of us, and what a great opportunity it was to present our new release all at once to millions of viewers!
